Warrior

The bitter winds of hell are blowing over
Satan’s shadow turns to find you
Turn away
Run today
Don’t delay
Flee

His cunning ways can’t convince you
You know the Lord is watching over you
Turn to God
Run to him
Stand beside
Him

Stand your ground don’t let the filth in
Don’t ever give up your happiness
God is there
Always near
Find yourself in
Prayer

The tempters storm is growing nearer
His intentions are becoming clearer
Like a snake
He will take
Anything you
Give

You have to find a way to stop him
Fight the darkness that surrounds you
Find the light
Hold it tight
Use it
Wisely

A thousand warriors sent before you
To fight the battle for your virtue
Gratefully
Humbly
Take your place
Beside them

You’ve won the battle that you’ve fought for
A hard learned lesson that you’ve had to learn
You’ve found the way
The only way
Hold to Christ our
Savior

Steps Into Darkness

Steps into the darkness
One backwards climb at a time
Arms flailing, catching nothing
I fall so fast, will I survive?

Drug through the angry pits
Of the deepest darkest despair
Calling out for somebody
To take a little time to care

Mercies hand reaches out
Takes in my tattered lonely soul
Helps me climb out of the pit
Dug deep by me and me alone

My first steps in sorrow
I grieve as I realize my debt
Crying, I understand his pain
To see His love, I did forget

I pray for forgiveness
Begging, honestly wanting change
To change myself, to live with him
Not to die in my sins like Cain

No more will I fail Him
No longer will I trip and fall
No longer will I hesitate
When my name he does call

The Lord takes my trembling hand
Show’s me all has been forgiven
All is well, keep moving forward
My child, don’t stray away again

2007 History Project

A baby cries
Her mother weeps
There's no milk to feed the child

The AAA
Has farms to pay
The child will have to go without

The child dies
It's no surprise
To find a shallow grave

A family in anger
A nation in hunger
The government does not care

The wealthy are ok
The poor will die away
And the rich will shield their eyes

One Last Love

I can sometimes imagine
Your whisper in my ear
Like a crisp autumn breeze
That clams my fear

I can feel your tears
Like a summers rain
Fresh upon my cheeks
Full of incredible pain

Don't worry my love
My heart wont forget
The way you treated me
The way you held to it

One last dance
One last look
One last love
To never overlook

You treated me right
Just like royalty
A princess in disguise
You respected me

Don't leave without me
Don't look away
I'm coming with you
Just turn my way

Never agian
Will I let you go
Never again
Will I be so slow

One last dance
One last look
One last love
To never overlook

Love is braoder than the ocean
And deeper than the sea
It's binding and true
Just like you and me

I know the distance is hard
But it didn't hurt just me
It was painful for the both of us
Of that I can plainly see

The love in your eyes
Reflects so deeply in mine
Don't go any further
I'm waiting for you all the time

One last dance
One last look
One last love
To never overlook

Manger Scene

A joyous, giving spirit fills the crisp December air
Children quietly stop to see a manger sitting there
A reverent soothing hymn dances lightly all around
To a steady drum beat and brilliant trumpet sound

Peace feels the passerby’s as they gaze quietly
At the precious baby Jesus, lying there silently
The manger scene, so cherished and honored
Even the worlds haste slows down to ponder

The birth of this special child brings much hope
His life full of teaching, peace to us he has spoke
Do not fear, for the time of the Lord is ever near
Feel his spirit so strongly all throughout this year

Change

Leaves of red, gold, green and brown
Swirl around this tiny country town
Leaving me with this contagious joy
Like a child at Christmas with a toy

My heart leaps with a resounding thud
My feet dance through puddles of mud
I’m no longer contending with the wind
My eye’s light aglow, no longer dimmed

See the stars shine like diamonds above
Feel the Saviors unfailing priceless love
Watch the snow, like glitter falling down
Wonder what Heavens plan for me is now

Crazy Little Cowgirl

I’m just that crazy little cowgirl
The one who truly saw the real world
Stepped outside and saw the lightning
Heard the thunder calling my name

I’m not afraid to chase the northern lights
Because life isn’t meant to be so shut tight
My dreams are an endless sea of fun color
Like a rainbow who has just joined another

I heard the breeze singing songs to me
Couldn’t believe the Rain-man's dream
Listened close as the animals talked
And heard their grand stories all about

I’m just that crazy little cowgirl
The one who truly saw the real world
Stepped outside and saw the lightning
Heard the thunder calling my name

I chased the lightning bugs all around
Found the bull frog under the ground
Saw a wolf dart quickly behind a tree
Played with a bear cub on my knee

When I dream, I dream with no bounds
I lose myself in the funny shaped clouds
Chase the wild mustang through the brush
Hopping I can catch him, but I’m in no rush

I’m just that crazy little cowgirl
The one who truly saw the real world
Stepped outside and saw the lightning
Heard the thunder calling my name

Gotta heart as big a country spread
Two legs that’ll run until their dead
I’ll play and laugh hard all year long
Then do chores before supper is gone

Like a monkey in a tree I’ll play all day long
I’ll sing with the birds and find my own song
Hop the cattle fences and race through the corn
Playin horses till papa hollers from the back door

Cause I’m just that crazy little cowgirl
The one who truly saw the real world
Stepped outside and saw the lightning
Heard the thunder calling my name

My Hero

My Hero isn’t just one person. I can not give you specific names. It is many people, from many places, and with many faces. My Hero’s are the people who don't give up no matter how tough life seems. Who dream big even when they are told they will never make it. The people who have been beaten down, and trodden upon but who work and work and work just to fulfill what they see in their future. The people who have nothing but yet, they still give everything they have. The Families who have nothing and are doing everything in their power to stay together and make things work. I admire those who don’t give up no matter the situation. I admire the Men and Women who are currently serving the United States. Whether in Germany, Iraq, Korea or right here in the USA, YOU are my hero's. You fight to keep the Freedom's of America Alive. THANK YOU. You are so brave and I am truly thankful for my Freedoms. I Admire the LDS Missionaries who go out into new places to teach the gospel. So many doors are slammed in their faces and so many of them are treated with less respect than they deserve. You are my Hero's as well. Thank you for having the desire to serve your Lord. I also admire my Family and Friends. They are my Hero's who I look to every day for guidance. Many of them have too many hardships and so many decisions on their plates. I admire their ability to just "grin and bear it". You are truly amazing. I admire you for your courage and for your example to me. Thank You for everything you do!!

Umbrella's & Solitude

Knowing not, what to do
Thought my heart was over you
Wonder if you see my love
Know that I can’t rise above

Rise above the love I feel?
I can’t deny what is real
You took my hand, made me smile
Maybe it might take a while

I guess I’m just a dreamer
Got my head up in the clouds
Waiting on forever but
The rain starts fallin down

Gotta find that old umbrella
The one called solitude
The one I’ll never be without
When it comes to lovin you

Holding on to memories
Dreams like whispers in the breeze
Your smile is a good mystery
Oh my word you’re such a tease

You had my head a spinnin’ boy
That’s not cool, I’m not a toy
You’re not in to me that way
That’s just fine, now go away

I guess I’m just a dreamer
Got my head up in the clouds
Waiting on forever but
The rain starts fallin down

Gotta find that old umbrella
The one called solitude
The one I’ll never be without
When it comes to lovin you

Its gonna take some time you see
My hearts still taken, set it free
Thought you were the one for me
I was wrong, it’s a normal thing

I can’t believe I fell in love
Now it’s time to look above
Look above up to the clouds
No more tears, just sing out loud

I guess I’m just a dreamer
Got my head up in the clouds
Waiting on forever but
The rain starts fallin down

Gotta find that old umbrella
The one called solitude
The one I’ll never be without
When it comes to lovin you

Where Did The Day Go

Where did the day go
When I used to know
That the sun would rise
And the moon would show

Where did the day go
When dawns first light
Always showed the way
And I knew it was right

Where did the day go
When life felt worth living
Each day, not as a show
But filled with peace giving

That day is here
That day is now
I’m going to stand
Not going to fear
I’ll make so the world
Stops pulling me down

Where did the day go
When things were black and white
When families all talked
And parents didn’t fight

Where did the day go
When giving was second nature
Stores were closed Sunday
And the homeless could find shelter

Where did the time go
When children could play outside
When we didn't abruptly fear
To give a stranger a ride

That day is here,
That day is now
I’m not going to stand
Not going to fear
I’ll make so the world
Stops pulling me down

Make The Time

When it rains
Is it really Angles crying
When the wind blows
Is it really the earth sighing

In sorrow, in anguish,
In toil, in fear
As they watch the Lords children
Quickly disappear

Walk in another shoes
See their sorrows from a different light
Walk on a righteous path
Raise the bar to a grand new height

Take time to bear the burdens
Of a friend lost deep in Hell’s despair
Take the time to help another
Forget your troubles, make time to care

Care for another’s weakness
Take your time to build them up again
Help share their dreams and desires
Be true, help them last to the end

When it rains
Is it really Angles crying
When the wind blows
Is it really the earth sighing

In sorrow, in anguish,
In toil, in fear
As they watch the Lords children
Quickly disappear

Angel Tears

When the rain is falling down
I feel new again inside
It’s the feeling of rejoice
Like an angel’s standing by

It’s the whisper of a breeze
That brings peace into my soul
And captures me like rain
Lets my spirit come alive

It’s the way the earth keeps turning

When all I do is whine
It’s the way the natural beauty
Helps me see the other side

It’s the sunrise in the east

That keeps me standing tall
It’s the start of each new day
That lets me pray for all

It’s the sunset in the west
That keeps me looking on
It’s the colors it does throw
That heals my mourning soul

It’s the way the earth keeps turning
When all I do is cry
It’s the way the natural beauty
Helps me see the other side

It’s the baby screaming loud

That keeps me up at night
When the night breaks into day
I’ll have to start again

The sound of little feet
Wakes me gently from my sleep
I quietly walk out
To find chaos all about

It’s the family life I’ve chosen
Nothing can compare
It’s these miracles God’s given
When I've found myself in prayer

It’s the hand prints on the wall
And the pictures on the fridge
That remind me deep inside
How blessed I am with kids

She’s graduating first
Without her two front teeth
She’s all a grin today
My little girl’s so sweet

But I know she’ll soon be grown
And have to find herself
She can’t stay with me forever
She’ll need to learn and grow

There’s my handsome little boy
Playing baseball little league
He’s got his daddy’s big blue eyes
And mommy’s knobby knees

I wish he’d stay this small and cute
For all eternity
But I know life must go on
Soon a man he’ll grow to be

So today I pray Dear, Lord
Please help them find their way
Help them find the path to take
That keeps them safe each day

Now the years have gone and passed
And now I’m watching from above
See my children love and grow
See life’s cycle come and pass

As I watch them through their lives
I cry rain to share their joy
And when they stand in need of faith
I send a gentle breeze their way

Cause soon we’ll all be together
In heavens loving arms
Cause that’s the plan the Lord has given
For us to love and have

When the rain is falling down
I feel new again inside
It’s the feeling of rejoice
Like an angel’s standing by

It’s the whisper of a breeze
That brings peace into my soul
And captures me like rain
Lets my spirit come alive

It’s the Lords plan that guides us

The nail prints in his hands
Is the price he paid so dearly
For us to live with God again

Cause soon we’ll all be together
In heavens loving arms
Cause that’s the plan the Lord has given
For us to love and have

Troubles of Today

Sometimes, we need to stand back and remember
The times we stood in stunned wonder
When families sadly, slowly fell apart
When Satan’s tight grasp took their heart

When the brave at heart go to battle
And have to be buried among the cattle
There is no break in this vast war
Freedom is what we have to fight for

Remember your prayers, my dear
Hold your God close and do not fear
Tomorrow’s dawn is breaking free
Remember repentance is the key

Sometimes, it’s good for us to leap
To take a chance and not miss a beat
Other times better to quietly follow
And silently hope for a better tomorrow

Tomorrow’s dawn will be shortly breaking
Take the nights wounded for there’ll be many
Wrap them in soft linen and tend to their cares
Remember in life, most things aren’t fair

Lay your dead beneath the bitter frozen ground
Hang your head lowly, watch angels gather round
Singing songs of soft farewell, no more tears of blue
Remember the dead will watch carefully over you

Yesterday’s sorrows are tomorrow’s steady tears
Fear not for time passing, for it is only another year
A year of war, a year of gain, a year of progressing steady
Don’t underestimate the Lord’s selfless giving way

Our troubles are nothing in the eternal spectrum of things
Troubles are the way we will learn to fall and then find our wings
To pick ourselves back up and to press forward ever strong
Never let your fear stand in the way, and let destiny go wrong

Ashes of a Phoenix

The winds of change
Roll over me
My heart, my soul
Beginning to see

My mistakes like blood
Stain my soul
Steady hot tears
Take a prayerful toll

One man

One promise
One world
Saved

Like a phoenix rising
I take wing
From the ashes of myself
My spirit is set free

Praying for God’s help

Give me strength
Help me to overcome
Give me peace at length

Help me to fight
The dark unknown
Through my darkest hour
Help grow the faith that’s sown

Praying for his strength
Praying for help
Steady my wavering faith
His loving arms I have felt

One man
One promise
One world
Saved

Like a phoenix rising
I take wing
From the ashes of myself
My spirit is set free

A peace feels my soul

His atonements will
My heart and mind at rest
Repentance was fulfilled

Take a bounding step onward
Never lose faith
Hold on to your standards
Keep strong, eternity is at stake

A Lesson Learned

I’m tired of your rotten drama
The worlds endless pain
Friends who are simply fakes
And rock stars senseless fame

I’m ready for the open road
A solid path to guide my feet
A brand new beginning for me
The past I will purposely defeat

I will walk away from battery
I will walk away from shame
I will stand up for myself
And no longer beg in vain

You can’t touch me
No, I’m too far gone
You’ll never find me
So now, walk on

I gotta put these old troubles
To rest beneath the ground
Holdin’ on to a purpose in life
A new journey I have found

Take a flying leap of faith
Walk tall in the light of day
No more hiding in the shadows
That’s no longer my life’s way

I will walk away from battery
I will walk away from shame
I will stand up for myself
And no longer beg in vain

You can’t touch me
No, I’m too far gone
You’ll never find me
So now, walk on

I’m now soaring with the eagles
Gravity has no strength to bind
It lost its vice like grasp on me
When I left you forever behind

I will hold no more hidden sorrow
I will cry no more crocodile tears
I am going to raise my head up high
And I’ll walk right through my fears

So I’m saying goodbye to you my boy
Never again to face that type of pain
I’ve learned the lessons you have taught
And have taken them in like the rain

I will walk away from battery
I will walk away from shame
I will stand up for myself
And no longer beg in vain

You can’t touch me
No, I’m too far gone
You’ll never find me
So now, walk on

A thought on Sunsets

I love sunsets. They're so big and beautiful. They close one day and bring the night on. Night means rest for me. Sweet dreams to escape reality. A place where fairy tales and happily ever afters do come true. Where people don't argue and everyone is true to their word. And when I wake? The sunrise peaks through my blinds bringing new hope that today will be bright and filled with laughter and joy. Yes, I love sunsets. They close the bad days with a beautiful array of colors and calm a wounded heart. They give peace to the tiresome and bring rest to their eyes. They warm the body and refresh the mind. They remind us that God is close and he loves each and every one of us. So next time you get a chance to watch the sun set take it. Sit down and think about everything it sybolizes and enjoy the moment. If there is someone special in your life let them know. You can't tell them enough that you care for them. Never go a day without saying I Love You to those special people in your life because today may be their last and tomorrow they'll paint the sunset.

Lost

A soul filled with wonder
A mind filled with hunger
Carry my troubles away

Pleading for forgiveness

Begging, please end this
Heartache is miseries best friend

Please see my sorrow

I can’t face tomorrow
Knowing you’re broken in two

See my heart shatter

To me it does matter
I couldn’t have stayed with you

Timing is key

Emotional are we
Dry the steady stream of tears

Angry stars falling
Bitter winds blowing
Stop, please stop, the pain

Drowning in fears

Consumed by hot tears
I’m as lost as a babe in the dark

Pursuing

Sometimes, we gotta take it slow
Hold on, to what we really know
Walk instead of running ahead
Love like you’ll be hurt again

Sometimes, it’s easier that way
Keep yourself safe, avoid the pain
A broken heart is not easily mended
Love often leaves us empty handed

When someone say’s why not pursue?
Look at them and say why not you?
Do they really understand the pain
That those before have put you through?

Is it worth the silly chase game
If the other isn’t thinking the same?
Is it worth the embarrassment
And a possibly ruined friendship?

No, I’d rather sit here and quietly wait
Observe from afar, go on a casual date
Nothing too serious, rushed or forward
Just keeping a friendship, moving onward

Trek to Zion

Come my darlin’
Let’s go walkin
Miles of snow packed
Plains to tread

Come my child
Don’t stray afar
Home is forward
Ever far

Westward homebound
Riding on down
Through the creek
And forest there

Moving forward
Ever onward
Through the vast plains
Of Midwest

We will make it
To the end where
We will gather
In Zion’s land

Come young families
Keep on pushing
Carts and wagons
Must go on

To the place where
Saints will gather
In such peace
And harmony

Come my family
Keep on walkin
Snow capped mountains
Are ahead

Keep on trekking
Ever walking
Blessed are the
Faithful ones

Here we are now
Loose your wagons
See the great Salt Lake
Is there

Shout for joy
And find some land
Hitch the plow
And start again

Friendship

It's the voice of an angel
Calling to me from above
Letting me know which direction
To find this friend I'll love

It's walking with my footsteps
Just the sand under my feet
It's the way it's supposed to be
The way we're supposed to meet

You're sitting there in the water
With a bucket in your hands
Gathering up the sea shells
That hide in the ocean sand

Hey there stranger
How are you today?
What is about you
That calls to me this way?

I sit beside you in the sand
Underneath the warm summer sun
We play all day building our castles
A new friendship has begun

We don't know why we met
Or how we're such good friends
All I know is that God sent you
An angel, to be my friend

You'll be my lighthouse in the storm
My flashlight in the dark
My friend through the eternities
Always there to do your part

Hey there friend
How are you today?
What is it about you
That calls to me this way?

In return I'll give you
A friend worth while to keep
One that's there to listen to you
And to never make a peep

A friend to help you live
To show you a better way
To never give up on you
And to help you through each day

Hey there friend
How are you today?
What is it about you
That calls to me this way?

It's been two in a half years
Since that day on the beach
When we first met
A lesson Angels would teach

We learned the value of friendship
Learning how to give and take
The way true friends should act
We forgot the others mistake

As the years keep growing shorter
Let us stay the best of friends
Never forgetting the memories
Of hidden sea shells in the sand

Hey there friend
How are you today?
What is it about you
That calls to me this way?

Hey there friend
I finally figured it out
You were sent to me
To show me the right route

You called to me that way
To show me how to be
The way I should act
And the beauty inside of me

You showed me the way
When my life was in a rut
How to hold on
And to never give up

Hey there friend
How are you today?
I finally figured out
What called me this way

Taking Flight

How do you know
When the moment is right
When to stay grounded
And when to take flight

Is it a feeling
Deep within the soul
Or is it a rush
Like running with the bull

What do you say
How can you tell
Is there happily ever after
Like in a fairy tale

What does it mean
How will you know
Will it take time
Or will love just flow

How do you know
When the moment is right
When to stay grounded
And when to take flight

Is it the thudding
Of an excited heart
Knowing it's right
From the very start

Will the wind whisper softly
Love is here
Or will thunder roll inside
Like a storm so near

When the day finally comes
Will I be ready
Will my decision be firm
My answer steady

How do you know
When the moment is right
When to stay grounded
And when to take flight

How will I know
He's the one for me
The one to hold my heart
For all eternity

Will he hold my heart
And still set me free
Open my eyes
To see my destiny

Will he hold me close
When I feel fear
Calm my troubled heart
Wipe away my tear

How will I know
When the moment is right
When to stay grounded
And when to take flight
