Sometimes, we need to stand back and remember
The times we stood in stunned wonder
When families sadly, slowly fell apart
When Satan’s tight grasp took their heart
When the brave at heart go to battle
And have to be buried among the cattle
There is no break in this vast war
Freedom is what we have to fight for
Remember your prayers, my dear
Hold your God close and do not fear
Tomorrow’s dawn is breaking free
Remember repentance is the key
Sometimes, it’s good for us to leap
To take a chance and not miss a beat
Other times better to quietly follow
And silently hope for a better tomorrow
Tomorrow’s dawn will be shortly breaking
Take the nights wounded for there’ll be many
Wrap them in soft linen and tend to their cares
Remember in life, most things aren’t fair
Lay your dead beneath the bitter frozen ground
Hang your head lowly, watch angels gather round
Singing songs of soft farewell, no more tears of blue
Remember the dead will watch carefully over you
Yesterday’s sorrows are tomorrow’s steady tears
Fear not for time passing, for it is only another year
A year of war, a year of gain, a year of progressing steady
Don’t underestimate the Lord’s selfless giving way
Our troubles are nothing in the eternal spectrum of things
Troubles are the way we will learn to fall and then find our wings
To pick ourselves back up and to press forward ever strong
Never let your fear stand in the way, and let destiny go wrong
